Channel Cat Tales: Bottled Water
Lawrence County News October 14, 1909
The Lawrenceville Ice and Cold Storage Company has installed the necessary machinery for the distillation of water and is now prepared to furnish consumers is absolutely pure water. This process by which distilled water is obtained is rather an intricate one to the uninitiated. The water is first transformed into steam, then condensed, steamed and filtered, after which it is re-boiled steamed and again filtered, then placed in sterilized bottles and it is ready to use. At present nothing less than 5 gallon bottles will be handled. This is a new departure for Lawrenceville and will likely be appreciated by those able to afford the luxury of distilled water.
