Fan Quilt 1910

The beautiful fan quilt above was made in January 1910 as a fundraiser for the ME Church of Lawrenceville. Depending on how much money was given, the patron either got a fan piece or the square itself.  The names were then hand embroidered on each piece.  Our history detective Holly Scherer is compiling a list of names  and our photographer Irene Jackman is taking very detailed photos.  Nancy King and Kaye Fisher then sew a label in each quilt as we inventory them, and place them in special quilt bags that they have sewn.  A label then is pinned to the bag with the photo and accession number to correctly identify each of thee lovely quilts in our collection.
