Ribbon Cutting at 2:00 pm
The Lawrence County Historical Society has moved the Irene Black Genealogy Library previously located on Olive Street in Bridgeport to Lawrenceville, and combined the Richard Palmer Local History Collection, as well as other materials, to create a research library for historians and family researchers. The 4000 sq. ft. 2 story building located at 1100 Lexington Avenue, Lawrenceville, IL (two blocks south of the Lawrenceville Post Office) was recently donated to the Society by Julia Ladner in order to provide the space and accessibility needed to house the growing research collections. An Open House will be held on April 17, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the new Research Library. The public is cordially invited to attend. At 2:00 pm there will be a ribbon cutting.
