One Room School in Bridgeport crowded with Second Grade Students Friday May 8, 2015
Our "school marm" Anne Weed of rural St Francisville welcomed about 65 Unit 10 2nd grade students to Pepple School at Bridgeport's Lanterman Park at 10:55 am on Friday. The 3 classes of second graders walked from their school building to the park accompanied by their teachers and classroom assistant.
Mrs Weed, a retired school teacher, loves to tell the story of the one room school days. She rang her school bell to call the children into the building, and then proceeded to teach them as they would have been taught in the late 1800's.
If you have a school group, youth organization, or even adult club that would like to visit the school, please contact F Price 945-5700 to schedule an appointment.
The school building is very much in need of repairs. To volunteer for a work day contact David Burgett lukinites
