Polar Bear Plunge and Delzell's Windows

In the "some things never change" department....and everything old is new again....(concerning Polar Bash this weekend at Russellville...)

Page 195 of the 175th Anniversary  Book of Lawrence County states that E. Coen Cunningham, Lawrence County Superintendent of Schools 1923-1939, was a physical fitness advocate. He organized a “Polar Bear Club” at Lake Lawrence and regularly swam there in freezing waters.

AS a treat for those who are staying warm...see the fashions of Lawrence County featured in the Delzell's Windows of 1977. Go to the website  lawrencelore.org and click on the button on the front page, or go to Businesses on the Square and check out the north side Businesses. (Click on the window display pictures and they will enlarge.  If you wore any of those clothes, we would like to hear about it.)
