Membership, Sports and Bill Phipps

Reminder:   The Quarterly Newsletter (by the new editor) will be published and mailed within the next two weeks.  If you haven’t paid your dues for 2015, this issue will be the last one you receive. Please think about adding a donation to your dues.  The Chamber is no longer paying rent since they have relocated, and those pesky electric bills just keep coming.

Print out a membership form from the website www.lawrencelore.org  then mail it in with a check and you are good for another year.  The program meetings are 7:00 pm, the 4th Monday of each month except Dec. at the Museum on the Square.  The next meeting will be Jan 26 and features a program by Kevin Borden called Borden’s We Have Known.

County sports:
About a year ago the blog ran these website for high school sports teams that no longer exist.   Bridgeport was included because it is now Red Hill.  You might want to check it out again as it looks like it may have added new information.

In the Corrections dept. William Bill Phipps who is the speaking voice of Prince Charming in Disney’s Cinderella movie was incorrectly said on an earlier blog to have been born in St. Francisville.  D. Carroll says William was born in Vincennes and moved to St Francisville when his mother remarried.  It has also come to our attention that Bill played Link Sawyer in a television series, Boone, that was broadcast on NBC from 1893-1984. Bill also played Theodore Roosevelt, Uncle to Eleanor in the movie Eleanor and Franklin, released in 1976.
