Dairy Queen 1950's

More on Ice Cream from Kevin's collection:   June 1950
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Winget have established the Dairy Queen at the south limits of State Highway One and are now ready for business. The opening, held up for some time due to the delay in the shipment of equipment will be held Thursday this week.
Winget was formally a resident Lawrenceville and is a brother of Mrs. W. W. Google and Dick Winget of Lawrenceville, and Mrs. Gordon Evans of Robinson. He was located in Oklahoma for a number of years and more recently operated a restaurant in Clay City.
The Dairy Queen is easily accessible by car, with plenty of parking space for all customers. The best of food materials will be used in connection with the business specializing in the cone with the curl on top.

Editor:  Even the Ice Company got in on the ice cream craze by selling ice cream freezers. See Ad below.
